Bee Removal & Wasp Control

(Wasp Removal is included in our regular service package, but because Bee Removal is a more delicate process, it requires a small additional fee)

Wasp Control
First of all, seek medical help immediately if you have a bee allergy and have been stung!

Even if you aren't allergic, bee stings and wasp bites are painful and irritating.

Be careful when you see wasp nests. Taking care of these particular pests has a higher element of danger to it so we recommend hiring a professional. Wasp control is part of Las Vegas' best pest control regular service package and we would be more than happy to visit your home and take care of any nests around your home or property.

How do I get rid of Bees?

Bee Removal is a bit more delicate so there is a small additional fee associated with this service. Bees serve a highly useful purpose in every ecosystem, so we don't just want to exterminate them. In most cases we are trying to relocate them to a place where they won't bother us humans as much.

We've all bought the can of wasp spray at the grocery store and often it seems to do the job...for a time. But those pesky nests always seem to reappear. That's because there is more involved than just getting rid of the nest. Let the pros at Pest Control Las Vegas take care of your Bee and Wasp problem for good.

Bee Safe!

As tempting as it might seem, throwing rocks or otherwise disturbing these insects is not a good idea. Never tease or annoy a bee or wasp nest. Just like you and I, these guys can be highly aggressive and protective of their homes. Bothering them can result in swarming and painful stings and bites.

The Honey Bee
Color: golden yellow and black
Size: ~1/2 - 3/4 inches long
This bee can only sting once (and only if feeling very threatened). Their stinger has a tiny sack of poison that stays in your skin as they die. They usually nest someplace protected like a tree or some kind of cavity. There can be up to 60,000 bees in one colony. We will not kill these bees at all costs if we can help it, as they are vital to our agriculture and economy.

Killer Bee
The Africanized Honeybee (A.K.A. "Killer Bees")
Color: golden yellow and black
Size: ~1/2 - 1 inch long
It's very difficult to tell this bee and a "normal" honeybee apart. These guys are just more aggressive and will attack quicker if disturbed. They will chase a victim for up to a quarter mile.

Bumble Bee
The Bumble Bee
Color: yellow with black rings on body
Size: ~1/2 - 1 inch long
Fat, little, and hairy, these bees can sting repeatedly. They are normally found in rotting wood, insulation in the walls, and other pre-existing materials.

Yellowjacket Wasps

Color: yellow and black coloring
Size: ~1/2 inch long
Living in cone shaped nests made from papery material and plant fiber. Sometimes their nests can be found underground but mostly hanging from trees or buildings. Numbering in the thousands, these wasps are most aggressive in the late summer.
DO NOT KILL these wasps close to their hives! They can sting repeatedly and when killed, they release a pheromone that will tell other yellowjackets in the area they are in trouble.

Paper Wasp
Umbrella Wasps (A.K.A. Paper Wasps)

Color: black with yellow coloring
Size: ~1 inch long
Skinnier than yellowjackets, these wasps get there name from the way they build their hives. Their papery hives are found under roof overhangs or areas like them. A layer of exposed "cells" can be seen on the underneath side. They rarely sting and their colonies are only a couple hundred wasps at most.

Mud Dauber Wasps
Mud Dauber Wasps

Color: black with a yellow coloring.
Size: ~1 inch long
There "waists" are a long and thin. These wasps build their own separate nest out of mud. They rarely sting and aren't overly protective of their homes. They eat spiders.

Bald Faced Hornet
Bald Faced Hornets
Color: black with white coloring on the face
Size: ~3/4 inches long
This is actually not a true hornet, but a species of yellowjacket wasp. Colonies usually are about 500 wasps in size. Their nests are papery and cone shaped and can be up to 2 feet in diameter. They can sting repeatedly.
